Purchase, NY- The Dowling Men’s and Women’s Cross Country teams would open up the 2010 season with a bang as they took first place in both events on the day.
The Women’s team was led by freshman Alyssa Ligouri who won the 5k race with an impressive time of 21:48. Alyssa was followed by freshman
Christina Vissichelli 22:11. The next Golden Lion to cross the line was freshman Anna Coogan with a time of 22:55 right behind her was Senior
Stephanie Ingenito who crossed the line in 22:58. Senior
Lauren Hulse finished out the scoring with a time of 23:18.
The Men dominated the field by placing five runners in the top ten. The Golden Lions were led by Junior Jon Cuomo who won the Men’s race with a time of 27:07. Senior
Dennis Fliller followed with a second place finish of 27:45. Freshman Terence Mchelhatton came in third place with a time of 28:34. Senior Matt Eble took sixth overall in a time of 29:32 and Junior Tom Wilson finished out the scoring with a time of 29:41 and a seventh place finish.
The Golden Lions are back in action next saturday at CW Post.
