CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y.-  The Dowling College volleyball team named four Golden Lions to the East Coast Conference All-Conference teams.  Juniors Kayla Dillman and Kayla Morgan earned Setter of the Year and Libero of the Year respectively with Kevin DesLauriers picking up Coach of the Year honors.

Junior Jessica Kalbfleisch earned a spot on the First Team after leading the Golden Lions with 365 kills and 3.76 kills per set.  She finished the regular season with a career high 354 digs and 17 double doubles.  The outside hitter finished in the top five of the ECC in kills, kills per set, total attempts, points and points per set.

Earning a Second Team honors is sophomore Katarzyna Klocek.  The right side led the Golden Lions at the net with 12 solo blocks, 68 block assists and 80 total blocks.  Offensively, she posted 273 kills, 2.68 kills per set with a .224 hitting percentage.

Dillman is the recipient of the conference’s first-ever Setter of the Year award. Despite missing seven mid-season matches due to an injury, the four-time ECC Setter of the Week still leads the ECC with 848 assists on the season. In addition, her assist per set total of 11.01 is more than 1.5 assist ahead of the next highest total in the ECC and ranks her 25th nationally across all of Division II.

Morgan anchored the Golden Lions’ defense this season with an ECC-leading 512 digs and 4.97 digs per set giving her a spot on the Second Team. Morgan’s serve was lethal as well, as she ranks atop the conference’s leader board with 50 service aces and finished third with 0.49 service aces per set.

Dowling set to open up post-season play as the No. 2 seed in the ECC Championship Tournament.  The Golden Lions will take on the No. 3 seeded Pioneers of LIU Post tonight at 7:30 PM hosted by the University of Bridgeport.
