OAKDALE, N.Y.– The Dowling College volleyball team wins their second match in as many days with a 3-1 victory over Roberts Wesleyan College this afternoon at Dowling Gymnasium.  The Golden Lions improve to an 14-8 overall record, 8-3 in East Coast Conference action. The Red Hawks fall to 10-8, 6-5 in ECC play.
 
The Golden Lions edged RWC 27-25 in the opening set taking an early 1-0 lead.  The Red Hawks came back to even the score with a 25-20 win in set two.   An epic battle followed in the third set which saw 13 tied scores and five lead changes and the Golden Lions coming away with the 36-34 win before closing out the match with a 25-12 win in set four.
 
Sophomore Katarzyna Klocek finished with a match high 19 kills.  Junior Jessica Kalbfleisch recorded a double double of 17 kills and 19 digs with senior Cassy Kelly posting a double double of her own of ten kills and 16 digs.  Junior setter Kayla Dillman handed out a match high 50 assists with junior libero Kayla Morgan picking up a team high 27 digs.  At the net, the Golden Lions recording 15 total team blocks with junior Yarden Amsalem and senior Dragana Jelovac assisting on six blocks apiece.  Klocek added five block assists and two solo blocks.
 
Roberts Wesleyan had four Red Hawks finish with double digit kills.  Judy Schults had a team high 15 kills with Kendal Havener adding 12.  Courtney Taylor and Jordan Willson finished with 11 and 10 kills respectively.  Setter Maggie Concannon dished 39 assists and libero Olivia Zureck posted a match high 34 digs.
 
The Golden Lions return to Dowling Gymnasium Tuesday, October 21st as they host LIU Post.  Game time is set for 7:00 PM.
