OAKDALE, N.Y.- The Dowling College volleyball team saw their four game win streak end as they suffered a 3-1 loss to the University of Bridgeport this evening at Dowling Gymnasium. The Golden Lions slide to 12-8 on the season with a 6-3 record in East Cost Conference play. The Purple Knights improve to 14-2 overall and remain unbeaten at 9-0 in ECC action.
After jumping to a 9-2 lead in the opening set, the Golden Lions held off the Purple Knights for a 25-17 win taking an earl 1-0 match lead. Bridgeport answered back with 25-16 win in set two to even that match at one set apiece. The third set saw nine tied scores and four lead changes, but ultimately went in favor of the Purple Knights 28-26 before the visitors took the fourth set 25-19 and came away with the 3-1 match win.

Jessica Kalbfleisch finished in double figures with 11 kills. Junior setter
Kayla Dillman dished a match high 32 assists and junior libero
Kayla Morgan added ten digs.
UB was led by Sarah Rosa with 21 kills hitting at a .421 clip with Biljana Savic recording a double double of 12 kills and 27 assists. Setter Giovana Soares added 20 assists with Ying Shen finishing with 13 digs.
The Golden Lions return to Golden Lions Gymnasium Saturday, October 18
th as they host Daemen College. Game time is set for 12:00 PM.
