FLUSHING, N.Y.- The Dowling College volleyball team traveled to Queens College and picked up a 3-0 win over the Knights this evening. The Golden Lions improve to 8-6 on the season with a 3-2 East Coast Conference mark. Queens evens out at 5-5 overall, 1-3 ECC.
Dowling took set one by the larges margin of the night 25-21. Set two needed extra points to determine a winner going in the favor of the visiting Golden Lions before they completed the sweep with 25-22 win in set three.
The Golden Lions were paced by junior
Jessica Kalbfleisch and sophomore
Katarzyna Klocek with nine kills apiece. Seniors
Cassy Kelly and Elizabeth Gormen each provided eight kills. Junior setter
Kayla Dillman dished 34 assists with Kalbfleisch recording a match high 15 digs.
Queens had three Knights finish in double digit kills with Tori Bowser and Arielle Dicocco both with a match high 13 kills as Francesca Indoni adding 10. Setter Taylor Garrett tallied 33 assists with Ragina Anthony and Xhesi Domi scooping 11 digs each.
The Golden Lions will travel to face the University of New Haven in a non-conference match up Saturday, September 27
th. Game time is slated for 1:00 PM.
