LATE GOALS LIFT WOMEN’S SOCCER TO 2-0 WIN OVER WILMINGTON
Box Score NEWARK, DEL.- Two second half goals propelled the Dowling College women’s soccer team to a 2-0 non-conference with over Wilmington University this afternoon. The Golden Lions improve to 4-2-1 on the season. The Wildcats move to 2-5.
After 71 scoreless minutes of play, the Golden Lions broke through with a goal in the 72

Kelly McQuail took a shot from 20 yards out and put it over the head of Wilmington’s keeper Julie Brown. Dowling doubled their lead in the 88

Emily Boge sent a through ball to junior
Allie Merrill who beat the Wildcat defense and snuck a shot past Brown.
The Golden Lions outshot the Wildcats 16 to 8 with a 4 to 1 corner kick advantage. Dowling’s goalkeeper
Melissa Guglielmo recoded five saves on the day with her counterpart Brown matching with five saves of her own.
The Golden Lions return to East Coast Conference play Saturday, September 27
th as they travel to face St. Thomas Aquinas College. Game time is set for 12:00 PM.
