WOMEN’S LACROSSE NAMES THREE TO IWLCA ALL-AMERICAN TEAMS

OAKDALE, N.Y.- The Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association has honored 48 student-athletes with a selection on the IWLCA Division II All-America teams for 2014. The IWLCA will honor the National All-Americans at the IWLCA All-American banquet on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at the Radisson Hotel Valley Forge in King Prussia, Pa.
 
Junior attack Jackie Andersen was named to the IWLCA All-American First Team with senior midfielder Samantha Stavish and sophomore defender Emma Ferreira picked up second team honors.
 
Andersen, and ECC and All-Region First Team selection, led the East Coast Conference with 65 goals and finished second with 49 assists for 114 total points.  She recorded eight points to lead the Golden Lions to the First Ever ECC Championship Tournament title naming her the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player.
 
ECC Co-Defender of the Year, Stavish’s 46 goals ranked her sixth in the ECC. While her 37 groundballs put her in a tie for sixth place in the conference. She led the Dowling defense in allowing only 8.65 goals per game.
 
Ferreira had a team leading 29 caused turnovers and tied with Stavish for the team lead in groundballs. She helped contribute to the Golden Lion’s tight defense that ranked third in the conference.
