GOLDEN LIONS DROP A 76-62 DECISION AGAINST LIU POST
Box Score Brookville, N.Y.- The Dowling College women’s basketball team took a 76-62 defeat on the road against the LIU Post Pioneers on Saturday afternoon. The Golden Lions fall to 4-16 overall, 4-10 in East Coast Conference play. The Pioneers improve to 13-8 on the season, and 9-4 in conference play.
The Golden Lions made 13 field goals in the first half and 12 in the second half. Dowling was 10-12 from the free throw line. Dowling had 30 points in the paint, and their bench supplied them with 11 points.
Krstina Surlan led the offense for the Golden Lions. She sunk in 10 field goals as she totaled 24 points, had six assists, and eight rebounds.
Christine Verrelle finished with a double-double gathering 10 rebounds and 10 points, as well as dishing out three assists.
Jessica Kalbfleisch added eight points and five rebounds.
The Golden Lions return home at Dowling Gymnasium Friday, February 13. Game time is set for 5 p.m.
