ROCHESTER, N.Y.-  Senior Christine Verrelle poured in19 points, but the Dowling College women’s basketball team fell in a road contest 82-54 to Roberts Wesleyan College this afternoon at Voller Athletic Center.  The Golden Lions slide to 2-10 on the season, 2-4 in East Coast Conference play.  The Red Hawks improve to 8-3 overall, 3-2 ECC.
 
Joining Verrelle in double figures was junior Krstina Surlan with 13 points and three assists.  Senior Kristen McMahon came away with 11 rebounds and nine points.  Junior Kamille Ejerta rounded out the top scorers with nine points.
 
Lucy Covley led the Red Hawks with a game high 20 points as Brooke Fields pitched in with 18 points.  Marissa Sell posted a game high 19 rebounds to go with her nine points.  
 
The Red Hawks finished shooting 42.3%, 30-70, to Dowling’s 30%, 18-60.  RWC knocked down 43.8% from beyond the arc while holding the Golden Lions to just 33.3%.  Roberts Wesleyan held a 24-14 advantage with points in the paint while out rebounding the Golden Lions 51-33.
 
The Golden Lions continue ECC play as they travel to face the University of the District of Columbia Saturday, January 17^th.  Game time is slated for 1:00 PM.
