Mariel Stegmeir
Assistant Athletic Trainer


Mariel Stegmeir joined the Dowling College Athletics staff in 2013 as Assistant Athletic Trainer. Mariel will work with the Athletic Training staff managing the care and prevention of athletic injuries and illnesses for the Golden Lions student athletes.

A native of Camarillo, CA, Stegmeir graduated from San Diego State University in 2010, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Athletic Training. While at San Diego State, she interned as a student Athletic Trainer at the University of San Diego and San Diego Mesa College. While interning there, she worked football, men’s and women’s soccer, men’s basketball, baseball, and women’s tennis. After graduating from San Diego State, she went on to graduate school earning a Master of Arts degree in Kinesiology: emphasis in Rehabilitative Sciences from San Diego State University. Throughout her time in graduate school, Mariel worked as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Francis Parker High School and Hilltop High School, where she worked football, boy’s and girl’s soccer, boy’s lacrosse, baseball, and softball.

Prior to joining the Golden Lions Athletic Training Staff, Mariel was the Assistant Athletic Trainer at San Diego Mesa Community College where she worked with the football, men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s water polo, men’s and women’s basketball, baseball, softball, men’s tennis, and men’s and women’s track and field programs.
