Jason Trufant
Senior Associate Athletic Director for Administration


Jason Trufant comes to the Dowling College Athletics staff after six years as the Associate Director of Athletics at Molloy College. At Molloy, he headed game-day management, facility supervision, purchasing, work study supervision, and advisor to the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

Prior to Molloy, Trufant had a three-year stint as the Facilities Coordinator and Assistant Baseball Coach at Frostburg State University in Frostburg, Md. While there, he was responsible for the game-day management of 21 Division III programs, including football. In addition, Trufant managed the physical education center, and served as the Fitness Center Director. As a member of the baseball staff, he assisted in guiding the pitching staff to numerous conference and national award accolades. The program also captured two conference titles in three years and participated in a pair of NCAA Division III Regional Championships.

Trufant graduated from the University at Albany in May 2000 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology. He was also a four-year starter on the Great Danes’ baseball team, twice earning All-New England Collegiate Conference Recognition for his performances on the hill. Moreover, Trufant captained Albany to a pair of appearances in the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship. In the career record books, he ranks second all-time in strikeouts and innings pitched. He also holds the single-season record for most wins.

Upon graduation from Albany, Trufant continued his baseball stint on the professional level for the Albany-Colonie Diamond Dogs of the Northern League from 2000-01. One year later, he received his master’s degree in Human Performance from Frostburg State, while taking on the role of assistant baseball coach. Lastly, Trufant spent one season as the Head Baseball Coach at the State University of New York at Cobleskill.

In addition to his duties at Dowling, Trufant serves as the East Coast Conference chairman for baseball, supervising the seasonal operations for the league.  Appointed in 2009, he wraps up his term as the East Region Chairperson for the NCAA Division II Baseball Committee where he oversaw the national selection process throughout the baseball campaign, and coordinated the East Region and NCAA Division II Championships.

Currently, Trufant resides in Oakdale, N.Y. with his wife, Cara and their daughter, Rian, and son, Kellan.
