CROSS COUNTRY COMPETES IN THE NJIT HIGHLANDER CHALLENGE
NEWARK, NJ—The Dowling College men’s and women’s cross country teams competed the 11
th Annual Technology XC Highlander Challenge Saturday morning at Branch Brook Park.
The Dowling men posted a 10
th place finish out of 19 team as the women’s came in 15
th out of 19.
Senior
Scott Litts was the top finisher for the Golden Loins, completing the 8k course with a time of 25:46.33, while senior
Marissa Schoeps led the way on the women’s side, finishing the 5k course with a time of 20:39.76. Litts finished 4
th overall out of 144 participants.
Following behind Litts were senior
Robert Mullen at 27:42.44; sophomore
Vichinsky Elien with a time of 30:15.57, Idelfonso Cosma with a time of 38:08.39,
Jonathan Singh with a time of 40:16.30 and Herlis Reyes with a time of 46:05.10.
On the women’s side, following in behind Schoeps was sophomore
Erin Smith with a time of 23:39.40, while
Jackie Andersen and
Ashley Firestone finished at 24:26.98 and 26:05.46, respectively.
Brie Ament finished the course at 27:03.59.
Dowling will return to action on October 12th when the Golden Lions compete at the CCNY XC Collegiate Classic.
