, members of the Dowling women’s and men’s cross country teams, have been named the East Coast Conference (ECC) Rookies of the Week for the second straight time. In addition, two Golden Lions would be named to the ECC Honor Roll list for the week.
Litts was the top freshman finisher at this weekend’s C.W. Post Invitational. He crossed the finish line in a time of 27:11.50, good for 12th place overall in helping his team earn a 4th place overall finish.
Marissa was the top ECC freshman on the women’s side at the C.W. Post Invitational held this weekend. She finished in a time of 19:58.22, placing her 14th overall in the field of 120 runners. Dowling finished 5th as a team at the event.
Making the ECC honor roll was Dowling volleyball player Bethany Shepard and women’s soccer team member Karen Endresen. In a 2-0 week for the Golden Lions, Shepard led the offense with 22 kills and was steady on defense with 22 digs. With 11 kills in each match, her consistency and hard work contributed to wins against Adelphi University and UDC.
Karen scored the game-winning goal in a 1-0 victory over Molloy College this Saturday, helping Dowling to a perfect 2-0 start in conference play.
