BRONX, N.Y.-  The Dowling College men’s and women’s cross country teams competed in their first race of the season hosted by Fordham University at Van Cortlandt Park.

Junior Vichinsky Elien was the top finisher for the Golden Lions, completing the 8k course with a time of 34:01.69, while junior Erin Smith led the way on the women’s side, finishing the 5k course with a time of 25:01.96.
 
Following behind Elien were Jonathan Singh with a time of 39:24.86, Idelfonso Cosma with a time of 41:05.20, Jose Taveras at 43:20.12 and Michael Goldstein at 46:43.12.
 
On the women’s side, following in behind Smith was senior Victoria Gallagher with a time of 25:04.36, while Vanessa Juengerkes and Krstina Surlan finished at 26:59.06 and 27:31.10, respectively. Freshman Victoria Mahoney rounded out the top five with at time of 27:34.22.
 
The Golden Lions return to action as they race at the LIU Invitation Saturday September 19^th.
