West Hemsted, N.Y.- The Dowling College men’s tennis team suffered a 6-3 loss to Daemen College in their first match of the 2013 season. The Golden Lions drop to 0-1 and with their first NCAA Division II win in program history Daemen moves to 2-6.
Seniors
Francisco Del Castillo and Sam Mamadjanau led the Golden Lions with an 8-3 No. 1 doubles win over Daemen’s Gregory Lowe and Zach Kinniard.
Mamadjanau came back with a 6-0, 6-0 win in No. 2 singles over Kinnaird. Derek Wells came from behind to defeat Gary Arruda 4-6, 6-0, 6-2.
The Golden Lions return to the court Tuesday, March 19th against Nassau Community College at 3:00 PM.
