Box Score WEST HAVEN, CONN. –The Dowling College men’s soccer team came from behind to beat the University of New Haven this afternoon, 2-1 to start their 2014 campaign. The Golden Lions open up at 1-0 on the season with the Chargers starting out at 0-1.
The Chargers took control of the first half scoring early when Andres Torres tallied his first goal of the season, assisted by Louis Tambini, at the 8:26 mark. The Golden Lions outshot the Chargers four to three in the first 45 minutes, but trailed 1-0 at intermission.
The Golden Lions continued to put pressure on the New Haven defense with 14 shots in the second half. But it was senior

th minute the tied the game up at one sending the teams into overtime.
After the first ten minutes of extra time did not result in winner, both sides lined up for the second set of overtime. UNH had the first scoring opportunities, but in the 103
rd minute of play

Chris Friedl picked up his first win of the season making one save in over 102 minutes in the net. James Pyatsky took the loss in net for the Chargers with eight saves and is now 0-1.

th as they host Concordia College at 1:00 PM.
