Box Score
BROOKHAVEN, N.Y.- The Dowling College field hockey team came up short as they dropped a contest to the St. Michael’s College Purple Knights 2-0 at Golden Lions Field. The Golden Lions drop to 1-8 on the season as the Purple Knights improve to 6-7.
St. Michael’s Cassundra Davis scored twice providing all the offense the Purple Knights would need in this affernoon’s match up. In the 8th minute of the first half, the forward took the ball through the arc and snuck in a shot to the right corner just past Dowling’s keeper
Ariana Ovadia. The Purple Knights continued to put the pressure on as the finished the half with 12 shots with the Golden Lions with two.
Just 35 seconds into the second half Davis struck again after receiving a pass from Samantha Burns from the top of the arc and put in a shot to the left corner. That would be all the Purple Knights would need as their defense held strong not allowing the Golden Lions to get a shot out for the remainder of the game.
Ovadia finished the day with 16 saves.
The Golden Lions travel to take on the Mercy College Mavericks Saturday, October 26th at 12:00 PM.
