MEN’S LACROSSE FINISH FIFTH IN ECC PRESEASON POLL

Central Islip, N.Y.- The Dowling College men’s lacrosse team has been selected fifth in this year’s East Coast Conference Preseason Poll as voted by conference coaches. The New York Institute of Technology were voted as the favorites to with the league championship with teammates, senior attacker Luke Miller and senior defender Ed Torriero  have been named the Preseason Offensive and Defensive Player of the Year, respectively.

Last season, the Golden Lions finished 12-5 and 6-1 in conference, advancing to the ECC Championship final and their fourth NCAA tournament appearance.  Eight new faces join the 13 returners including ECC All-Conference First Team Selection Brian White who racked up 36 points on 19 goals and 15 assists form the midfield position.  The sophomore picked up 20 groundballs and caused three turnovers.

Head Coach Tim Boyle and his team begin their 2015 campaign as they open at home as they host Adelphi University Tuesday, February 24th at 4:00 PM.
