GOLF CLOSES OUT FALL SEASON AT PORT JEFFERSON INTERCOLLEGIATE CLASSIC
PORT JEFFERSON, N.Y.- The Dowling College golf team closed out the fall at the Port Jefferson Country Club Intercollegiate Classic in Port Jefferson, New York.
The Golden Lions were eager to bounce back and play two solid rounds in order to regain their spot in the region, and that’s exactly what they did. On Day 1 the team recorded a team score of 305, good for 3rd place. Brian Almeninger’s 74, along with a 75 from
Kurt Brey, and 77 from
Petter Lehmann helped lead the way for the team.
Going into Day 2, Dowling needed another strong performance in order to remain in 3rd place.
Kurt Brey fired a second round 72, placing him tied for 6th individually. A pair of 75’s from
Brandon Romano and
Brandon Moore, supplemented with
Petter Lehmann‘s 78 gave the boys a second round team score of 300, solidifying them in 3rd place. (305-300)
