GOLF FINISHES FIFTH AT PETER KING MEMORIAL TOURNAMENT

MANORVILLE, N.Y.-  The Dowling College golf team shot a 475, in the rain-shortened 27-hole Peter King Memorial Tournament this weekend to finished fifth at the Rock Hill Country Club. The tournament’s first round was played on Friday, and was 18 holes, while Saturday’s final round was shortened to just nine holes due to inclement weather.

Dowling’s Kurt Brey posted a team best 113 score over two days.  After posting a 77 in the tournamen’s opening day, Brey finsihed with a 36 on day two.  Petter Lehmann recorded a 118 with a 78 and 40.  Senior Brandon Moore rounded out Dowling’s top finishers posting an 82 on day one and a 38 on day two for a 120.

Nyack College came out on top with a tournament best 453.  Farmingdale State and Southern New Hampshire University both posted a 463 score finishing tied for second.

The Golden Lions return to the course Saturday, April 5th as they take part in the Farmingdale State Spring Invitational.
