NORTH ANDOVER, MASS.- The Dowling College men’s basketball team dropped their non-conference matchup with Merrimack College 78-51 at Hammel Court. The Golden Lions slide to 2-5 on the season as the Warriors move to 3-5.
Senior
Darien Davis led the Golden Lions with a 16-point performance adding five rebounds and two assists. Sophomore
Ryan Hickey pitched in with 15 points, eight boards and two steals.
Merrimack had four Warriors finish in double figures with Troy Hammel recording a game high 17 points. Gelvis Solano and T. Berry-Rogers posted 15 points apiece with Kyle Howes rounding out the top scorers with a double double of ten points and 11 rebounds.
The Warriors held Dowling to a 28.3% shooting percentage from the floor and just 16% from three-point range while finished at 38% from the floor, 33.3% from beyond the arc. Winning the battle of the boards was Merrimack out rebounding the Golden Lions 55-42 while turning 18 DC turnovers into 20 points.
The Golden Lions return to ECC play as they travel to face Mercy College Wednesday, December 10
th. Game time is set for 7:30 PM.
