WEST HAVEN, CONN.- The Dowling College men’s basketball team dropped a non-conference match up 80-49 to the University of New Haven this evening at Charger Gymnasium. The Golden Lions fall to 1-4 on the season as the Chargers improve to 3-2.
Senior
Darien Davis finished the night with a game high 27 points adding four boards and two blocks. Sophomore
Ryan Hickey pitched in with five points and six rebounds.
New Haven had three Chargers finish in double figures with Eric Anderson leading the way with a double double of 19 points and 14 boards. Jemal Mosley recorded 12 points with Cyrus James rounding out the top scorers with 10 points.
The Chargers held the visiting Golden Lions to shooting just 27.9% from the floor, 17-61, 10.7% from three point range while finishing with a 50% from the field on the night, 32-64, with a 30.8% mark from beyond the arc. UNH won the battle of the boards 49 to 31 while holding a 47-21 advantage in the paint.
The Golden Lions return to Dowling Gymnasium Saturday, December 6
th as they open East Coast Conference play. Game time is set for 3:00 PM.
