OAKDALE, N.Y. – The Dowling College men’s basketball team will open the 2015-16 season by facing the University of Miami Hurricanes of the Atlantic Coast Conference in an exhibition game on Wednesday, November 4 at the BankUnited Center.

Second year head coach John Mateyko will face off against his own former coach Miami’s Jim Larranaga in Dowling’s first Division I exhibition game since November of 2010 when the Golden Lions played Loyola Marymount University.

The Golden Lions, who return nine letterwinners, including three starters, posted a record of 13-16 in 2014-15, including a mark of 10-10 in East Coast Conference action. After claiming the sixth seed in the ECC Championship Tournament, the Golden Lions were topped by ECC Champion University of Bridgeport, 93-75, in the semifinal round.
