OAKDALE, N.Y.- The Dowling College men’s basketball team suffered a 102-89 loss to the University of Bridgeport this evening at Dowling Gymnasium. The Golden Lions slide to 6-9 on the season and even out at 4-4 in East Coast Conference play. The Purple Knights improve to 11-4 overall, 7-1 ECC.
Bridgeport used a 56.1 shooting percentage, 37 for 66, to maintain a double-digit lead through most of the game. The Purple Knights knocked down 11 of 22 from three-point range and outrebounded the Golden Lions 47-34. UB had balanced scoring with six finishing in double figures. Willie Williams III recorded a game high 21 points paired with a game high 13 rebounds. Devon Elliott poured in 20 points with Jesse Jones coming off the bench with 18 points. Eddie Asamoah and Ernest Rouse finished with 15 and 12 points respectively as Naqwan Crowell rounding out the top scorers with a double double of 11 points and 10 boards.

Darien Davis recorded 13 points with junior
Evan Maxwell and freshman
Tristan Brown adding nine points each.
