Jana Cleveland, a 5’9" setter from Virgina Beach, VA, joined the Golden Lions in the 2002 season. She immediately became an impact player as she was named NYCAC Rookie of the Year her freshman season. In 2005 she would earn First Team All-NYCAC and First Team All-Northeast Region honors.
Over the course of her career, Cleveland helped her team to 3 NYCAC Championships and 1 Elite Eight appearance. She finished her career as Dowling’s All-Time leader in assists with 5,931 and is ranked 14th in NCAA Division II history. In 2005, after leading the Golden Lions to their first Elite Eight appearance, Cleveland was named to the AVCA All-American Honorable Mention squad.
