Irina Belozerova, from St. Petersburg, Russia, was a two year member of the Dowling Volleyball team.
In 2005, Belozerova made an immediate contribution, helping to lead the Golden Lions to their first Elite Eight appearance. A middle blocker, Belozerova put away 555 kills, averaging 3.72 kills per game. She led the team in hitting percentage at .360 and was a wall on the defensive line, racking up 121 blocks on the season. She was named NYCAC Player of the Year, NYCAC First Team All-Conference, and was placed on the NYCAC All-Tournament Team. Her season culminated with a spot on the 2005 AVCA All-America Third Team.
The 2006 season was another successful season for Irina, as she helped lead the team to a second straight berth in the Elite Eight. Belezerova once again dominated the middle, averaging 2.97 kills per gam and 1.18 blocks per game. She was named to the ECC All-Conference First Team, AVCA and Daktronics All-Region Teams, as well as the NCAA Northeast Region Tournament Team. Her efforts in 2006 would earn Belezerova the honor of being named an AVCA Honorable Mention All-American.
