Guy-Roland Kpene
Guy-Roland Kpene, a 5’10" senior fro Abidjan, Africa, enjoyed a fantastic career at Dowling College. After transferring from Westchester Community College, Kpene had two short years to make an impact on Dowling’s Men’s Soccer program. Guy did just that.

Kpene was an offensive threat from the day he first stepped on to the field for the Golden Lions. In his first season as a Golden Lion, he started all 19 games and led the team with 33 points by scoring 13 goals and adding 7 assists. He fired in 5 game winning shots including the only goal in Dowling’s 2005 victory against NYIT to send the Golden Lions to the NYCAC Finals. His play earned him recognition as All-NYCAC First Team and NSCAA/adidas All-Northeast Region First Team.

His senior season was an unforgettable one with a fairy tale ending. He led his team to an amazing 22-0-2 record as the team achieved their long time goal on winning the National Championship, the first in Dowling College history. Kpene finished as Dowling’s leading scorer and Most Outstanding Offensive Player, landing him fifth in the nation averaging 2.61 points per game ans seventh with 1.09 goals per game. Througout the season he was was named ECC Player of the Week, ECAC Player of the Week, and twice was named BigAppleSoccer.com’s Player of the Week. With such an outstanding performance throughout the year, Kpene was bestowed the honor of Daktronics and NSCAA Division II Men’s Soccer 2nd Team All-American.
