Visiting Athletic Trainer’s Guide
On behalf of Dowling College, it is our pleasure to welcome you. This page is designed to help you familiarize yourself with our sports medicine staff and facilities. Hopefully this will help make your visit hassle-free. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact any of our staff members.

Facilities:
Brookhaven Campus
The athletic training room is located in the building on the north side of the complex.

St. John’s University Eastern Campus, St. Joseph’s Hall
The athletic training room is located at the end of the hallway, adjacent to the visiting locker-room.

Oakdale Campus Curtain Student Center Athletic Training Room, Room 110B
The athletic training room is located through the double doors of the gym, next to the nurses office.

Splints
Crutches

Pre-Game Treatments:
If your team will not be accompanied by an Athletic Trainer we require a minimum of 24 hours notice.
In order for your student athletes to be treated, they must come with a fully stocked athletic kit, as well as a note from a Doctor or Certified Athletic Trainer, stating what they need. Due to time and space restrictions, ultrasound and electrical stim will not be administered without prior Dowling College approval. Student Athletic Trainers will not be permitted to use modalities.

Cold / Warm Whirlpool
Taping / Ankle Strapping (team must supply own tape)

Treatment Availability:
Begins: Two hours prior to athletic event
Ends: Approximately one hour after athletic event
