EAST STROUDSBURG, PA.- The Dowling College field hockey team was edged out by East Stroudsburg University 2-0 this afternoon.  The Golden Lions move to 2-11 on the season as the Warriors improve to 8-5.
 
With less than two minutes remaining in the first half, the East Stroudsburg broke up the shut out with a goal by Becky Gagliardi.  The Warriors added to the lead midway through the second half when Ally Roth assisted Jessica Lawville’s goal pushing the score to the game’s final 2-0.
 
The Golden Lions were out shot by the Warriors 32 to 0 with ESU holding a 15-1 penalty corner advantage.  Dowling’s keeper Ariana Ovadia finished the day with 16 saves.
 
Dowling returns to Golden Lions Field Sunday, October 26^th as they host Stonehill College.  Game time is set for 1:00 PM.
