FIELD HOCKEY SHUT OUT BY #9 BENTLEY

Box Score WALTHAM, N.Y. — A five goal second half carried #9 Bentley University to an 8-0 win over Dowling this afternoon. The Golden Lions slide to 0-6 on the season as the Falcons improve to 7-3.
 
The Falcons got the scoring started early as Gina Lirange put home a rebound for her ninth of the season to make it 1-0 at 9:08. Minutes later, Colleen Moran tallied her 1st goal of the season to make it 2-0 and closed out the half with her second of the day to head into the break with Bentley leading 3-0.
 
Bentley’s Brandy Aspiundh tallied her first goal of the season just seconds into the second half and opened the gates for four more unanswered goals for the Falcons.
 
Katie Kelley and Evelyn Schaedel combined on the shutout in goal for the Falcons.
 
Dowling’s Arianna Ovadia made 11 saves in goal for the Golden Lions.
 
The Falcons outshot Dowling 35-0 and held a 15-0 advantage in penalty corners.
 
The Golden Lions host Newberry Friday, October 11th at 4 p.m.
