FIELD HOCKEY FALTERS AGAINST SAINT MICHAEL’S

Colchester, VT.-  The Dowling College field hockey team dropped a non-conference matchup this afternoon with Saint Michael’s College 4-0.  The Golden Lions fall to 1-6 on the season as the Purple Knights improve to 3-2.
 
The Purple Knight opened the scoring in the 16th minute of play on lifted shot over Dowling’s keeper Ariana Ovadia‘s left side by Cassaundra Davis.  Just about two minutes later, St. Michael’s added to their lead on Carolyn Avery’s fourth goal on the season.  Marjoiein Kerstjens rounded out the scoring in the first half with her first goal of the season knocking in a deflection from Avery sending the Purple Knights into the break leading 3-0.
 
The Purple Knights tacked on one more goal in the second half from Micaele Heil bringing the game to its final 4-0 score.
 
Dowling’s Ovadia finished with 18 saves on the day with St. Michael’s keeper Sarah Healey recording three.
 
The Golden Lions continue their road trip tomorrow, September 21st as they take on Southern New Hampshire University at 4:00 PM.
