SECOND HALF PUSH LIFTS ADELPHI OVER FIELD HOCKEY

GARDEN CITY, N.Y.-  Adelphi University scores five times in the second half to come away with a 5-0 win over Dowling College field hockey team this evening.  The Golden Lions fall to 1-5 on the season with the Panthers improving to 3-1.
 
After a scoreless first half, AU’s broke through in the 48th minute with an unassisted goal by Lena Pollich.  Less than two minutes later, Mary Plotas started her string of three straight goals putting the Panthers ahead 4-0.  Adelphi’s Kristen Bagley rounded out the scoring in the final seconds of play for the 5-0 win.
 
Dowling’s keeper Ariana Ovadia finished the day with 18 saves with Adelphi’s Kelly Serrao picked up a save on the only shot she faced.
 
The Golden Lions travel to take on Saint Michael’s Saturday, September 20th at 4:0 PM.
