John Mateyko
Men’s Head Basketball Coach


Mateyko comes to Dowling by way of St. Joseph’s College where he spent the last 13 seasons leading the Golden Eagles becoming the program’s winningest coach in the history of the men’s program, posting ten double-digit winning seasons, two NCAA Tournament appearances and one Skyline Conference championship during his tenure.  His overall record is 190-129 (02-13) and he has won two Skyline Conference Coach of the Year awards (’07-’08 & ’11-’12).

During his tenure, Mateyko guided the Golden Eagles to two NCAA Division III tournaments (once as conference champion and once as an at-large selection), several appearances in the NCAA’s Atlantic Region rankings and multiple selections to the ECAC Metro Tournament.
