Chris Caputo becomes the first baseball All-American for the Golden Lions.

A transfer student from C.W. Post, Caputo garnered All-America Honorable Mention honors for his breakout performance at the plate in the 2007 season. He immediately became a dominate hitting force as the designated hitter on the Dowling squad. Caputo batted .374 in the number three spot for the Golden Lions and shattered the single season record for RBI as he drove in 63 runs. A recipient of this year’s NCBWA Northeast All-Region First Team, he tied the single season doubles record at 20 and added six homeruns to amass a team high .595 slugging percentage.

In addition, Caputo has also been named to the ABCA/Rawlings All-Northeast Regional First Team, Daktronics All-Northeast Team, as well as a First Team All-Conference pick.
