OAKDALE, N.Y.- JJ Bessell, a 2014 graduate of the Dowling College baseball team, signed a professional contract with the Watertown Bucks of the North Country Baseball League.
 
The 6-2 right-hander took to the mound as a Buck Wednesday, May 27^th and earned his first professional victory in the 6-3 win over the Road City Explorers.   
 
As a Golden Lion, Bessell made 48 appearances with 28 starts on the mound during his four years. Posting 17-11 record, he turned in 226.2 innings with 216 strikeouts and a 2.70 career era. In his final season in the blue and gold, he had career low of 2.08 era while achieving a career high 93 strikeouts.
 
The Bucks (2-1) return to action as they travel to take on Old Orchard Beach Surge tonight, May 29^th at 7:00 PM.
