OAKDALE, N.Y.– Two time ECC Pitcher of the Year,
Tyler Badamo of the Dowling College baseball team, was named the East Region Pitcher of the Year by both Daktronics and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) on Thursday afternoon.
Badamo has been dominant all season long, posting an earned run average under 1.00 after an amazing streak of 72.2 innings without allowing an earned run. After a complete game shutout over Franklin Pierce in the opening game of the NCAA East Region Tournament earlier this afternoon, Badamo now holds a 9-3 record with a 0.76 ERA on the season. The righty has also struck out 128 batters in 106.2 innings pitched and allowed only five extra base hits all year.

Andrew Abreu, were the only ECC student-athletes to earn a spot on the First Team of both All-Region lists.
Junior outfielder John Cruz earned Daktronics First Team honors with senior starting pitcher
Tom Bammann and senior utility player
JC Brandmaier were named to the second team.
Cruz was was an NCBWA second team selection with Brandmaier picking up Honorable Mention honors.
The Golden Lions continue play in the NCAA Division II East Region tournament as they face No. 3 seed Wilmington University tomorrow, May 16
th at 4:00 PM.
