Kyle Rubisch
Oakdale, NY-
After leading his team to the NCAA Semifinals this season, Kyle Rubisch of the Dowling Men's Lacrosse team has been selected by the Toronto Nationals in the 2010 MLL draft.

Rubisch, a first team All-American and All-Conference member, was dominant in his senior season at Dowling.  He would help lead his team to 12-2 record while earning upsets over nationally ranked teams along the way.  His contributions in a 8-7 win over National Champions C.W. Post University in April would also earn him Nike/Inside Lacrosse Player of the Week recognitions.

Outside of Dowling, Rubisch would also be extremely successful for the Brampton Excelsiors.  Kyle would be named the OLA Junior A playoff MVP, Junior A defensive MVP, a first team OLA All-Star, and was also named the Junior A Defensive Player of the Year and First Team All-Canadian by the National Lacrosse League Insider among many other honors.  Last season, Kyle led the Excelsiors to within one game of winning the Minto Cup, the Canadian junior A lacrosse championship, falling 2-1 in a best of three contest.
He would eventually go on to win the Ken Giles Award, an honor given to the top amateur athlete in his hometown of Brampton, awarded by the Brampton Guardian newspaper.

Rubisch, the 48th overall pick, will be joined on the team by Mike Cama of C.W. Post,  one of three Division II players selected in the draft. Also making the cut from DII is Albert Maione of Molloy College.
