DURAN NAMED TO DAKTRONICS ALL-AMERICAN SECOND TEAM

Oakdale, NY- Gabriel Duran (Brooklyn, NY) has another honor to add to his list of accomplishments this year as he has gone on to earn a spot on the Daktronics All-American second team.
Duran finished the 2010 campaign with a record of 5-3 and a Division II leading 0.74 ERA. Duran held opponents to a .150 batting average by allowing only 31 hits in 60.2 innings. He also struck out 68 batters on the year to become Dowling's all-time strikeout leader and the first player in program history to top the 200 strikeout plateau.
Duran's special season also included two no-hitters. The first came on April 3 against Mercy, when he struck out 10 hitters. Three weeks later he repeated his feat with the third no-hitter of his career, this time holding Bridgeport without a hit while striking out 11.
For his accomplishments in 2010, he was also named to the NCBWA All-Region first team, the ABCA, Rawlings All-Region first team, and also earned his 2nd straight ECC Pitcher of the Year award.
