Juniors
Cassandra Cronin (Islip Terrace, NY) and
Samantha Titus (Bay Shore, NY) have been named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association All-Region team.
Cronin, a midfielder, was named to the First Team, and
Titus, a defender, garnered Second Team honors.
Cassandra Cronin becomes the first player in program history to earn IWLCA All-Region First Team honors and also earns an All-Region spot for the second consecutive year.
Cronin was an offensive force for the Golden Lions all season, setting a program single season with 67 goals. That total ranked her 8th in the nation and her 3.94 goals per game average also ranked her 8th in all of Division II.
Cronin, who led Dowling in scoring in 15 out of 17 games, twice scored 6 goals in a game, with one coming against No. 1 nationally ranked, C.W. Post.
With her offensive exploits well known,
Cronin was also a standout defensively, leading the team with 36 ground balls and 24 caused turnovers.
Samantha Titus, for the second straight season, has been named to the IWLCA All-Region Second Team.
Titus was one of the Golden Lions' best defenders on the season as she finished third on the team with 17 caused turnovers. She also finished second on the team with 35 ground balls and 39 draw controls.
Titus chipped in on the offensive side of the field as well, scoring 17 goals and dishing off 2 assists on the year.
