MEN'S ROWING COMPETES AT KNECHT CUP REGATTA

COMPLETE RESULTS

Camden, NJ-
  The Dowling Men's Rowing team would compete in the Knecht Cup Regatta this past weekend, entering 3 boats into competition. 

Racing would begin with Don Ford and Tom Ford competing in the Men's Varsity 2- event where they would take a 5th place finish in their heat with a final time of 8:51.10.  Their time would not be enough to advance. 

The Men's Varsity 4+, stroked by Shayne Lewis, would advance to the petite final after taking 4th place in their heat with a time of 7:37.78.  Marist College would finish 1st in that heat with a time of 6:54.96.  In the Varsity 4+ petite final, Dowling would finish 6th, crossing the finish line in 7:09.01. 

The final race for the Dowling Men's team would see the Men's freshmen/novice 8+ square up against SUNY Maritime.  In that race, Dowling would earn the gold medal after taking a first place finish in a time of 6:50.70, almost a whole minute ahead of Maritime (7:46.20).  Barry LaPierre would sit stroke in that race for the Golden Lions. 

The Dowling Men will next compete in the Dad Vail Regatta to take place on May 8th.
