WOMEN'S TENNIS FALLS TO STONEHILL IN OPENING SPRING MATCH

  The Women's Tennis team would open up spring play with a 2-7 loss to Stonehill College this past Thursday.

Stonehill, ranked 3rd in the ITA East Region poll, would host the Golden Lions for their spring home opener, with Dowling coming off a successful fall season.  Tamiris Diversi , a member of the ECC All-Conference first team, would get the lone win in singles competition for Dowling, defeating Lindsey Herchel in 1st flight singles, 6-0, 6-4. 

Diane Kobasiuk, a second team All-Conference selection in the fall, would have the next closest game for the Golden Lions, falling in three sets to Lindsay Simmons with a 3-6, 7-5, 9-11 final. 

Doubles play would see another win for Dowling as Diversi and Cristina Hoffman would team up to defeat Paige Frost and Samantha Dircks in first flights with a 8-6 final. 

Dowling falls to 7-6 overall since the start of the Fall season while Stonehill improves to 7-1.
