Dowling College

Oakdale, NY-  Simona Bartkova of the Women's Basketball has earned Academic All-District first team honors as announced by CoSIDA and ESPN The Magazine.  Bartkova is the only member of the East Coast Conference to make the first team.

Simona continues to excell on the court and in the classroom, ranking 5th in the ECC in FG% (.466) while 9th in rebounding (6.3/game).  Her skills don't stop there as she also is a member of the Dowling Honor Roll and Athletic Director's Honor Roll while studying Biology.  Simona is also currently researching anti-cancer properties in various bacteria and fungi under a grant with her professor. 

In addition to making the first team, Simona is now up for Academic All-American voting to take place next week.
