DURAN AND MCCLURE FINISH 2009 AS NATIONAL STAT LEADERS
Sophomore pitcher Gabriel Duran (Brooklyn, NY) of the Baseball team and junior attackman John McClure (Brampton, Ontario) of the Men's Lacrosse team have finished their respective seasons as national leaders in a statistical category.

Gabriel Duran allowed 4.52 hits per 9 innings in 2009 to lead the nation, almost more than a full hit ahead of runner-up Brandon Forshee of Francis Marion (5.44).

Duran, who also finished 3rd in the nation in earned run average (1.30) also helped the Golden Lions pitching staff to lead Division II in two categories. Dowling came in the top spot in team earned run average (2.30) and hits allowed per 9 innings (7.21).















John McClure
John McClure, who led the Golden Lions with 54 goals on the season, paced Division II with 4.15 goals per game.

McClure also ended in a three way tie for the national lead in goals as Stephan LeBlanc (Queens, NC) and Gregory Rogowski of Merrimack also finished the season with 54 goals.
