Oakdale, NY- Dowling Athletics will host the 19th Annual Alumni Cup Regatta this Saturday on the Connetquot River at the Rudolph Campus in Oakdale, NY.
The Golden Lions will play host to one of the larger groups of competitors in recent memory at the regatta with 8 schools competing alongside Dowling in 15 different events. Each school will be vying for the prestigious Dowling Alumni Cup Trophy which will be awarded to the school with the greatest amount of points at the end of the day. Other trophies will be given for team points in the men's and women's categories as well.
During the day, Regatta t-shirts will be available for purchase while Vitamin Water from the Athletics Department and bagels from Bagel Doctor will be provided to all competitors.
"We travel to a lot of regattas throughout the year but it's always great when you can host one at your own school, especially with this many competitors," said Men's and Women's Rowing head coach Peter Lee. "We look forward to a great day of racing."
Coach Lee has led his Varsity Women's program to four NCAA National Championship Regattas and two Dad Vail Regatta first place finishes in his 5 years as head coach. Lee has taken on double duties this year as he was named the Men's Rowing head coach this past summer as well.
Coaches and coxswains meeting is set for 8:00am with a tentative 9:00am start for racing.
