Central Islip, NY- The East Coast Conference has announced the 2009 Women's Tennis All-Conference teams, with 3 Golden Lions making the list.
Making the first team was junior Tamiris Diversi. Diversi, who competes in first flight singles and doubles, has had an outstanding year for the Golden Lions, helping them to a 5-2 overall record. Posting a 5-2 overall individual record in singles, she would stay strong in conference play as well, going 4-1. In doubles, Diversi would play just as strong, going 4-2 overall while posting a 3-1 ECC record.
Second team honors would be given to Cristina Hoffman and Diane Kobasiuk. Kobasiuk, in her final year at Dowling, has been nothing but amazing in her play during the 2009 season. Currently 6-1 overall in singles play, Kobasiuk would not drop a set for the first 5 matches of the year in both doubles and singles. Her 5-1 doubles record is more evidence of her strong work ethic in 2009. In conference play, she is currently 4-1 in singles while going 3-1 in doubles matches.
Cristina Hoffman has also been a key figure on the Dowling roster, posting a 4-2 overall record in second flight singles while going 3-2 in the ECC. Her doubles record is an impressive 4-2 while playing alongside first team member, Diversi.
